The Little John offers comfortable, competetive accommodation in the centre of Hathersage providing an excellent base for climbers and walkers. We  have 6 comfortable en suite bedrooms and 2 fully fitted self contained holiday cottages.

Hathersage is easily accessible via both road and rail. At the heart of the community is The Little John Inn, named after the legendary companion of Robin Hood. Whether or not you believe the stories of the merry men dressed in Lincoln green, you can believe in the warm welcome, excellent accommodation and wonderful food awaiting you when you come to stay with us!

The Little John (LJ's) has a mixed clientel of locals, walkers, climbers and visitors. We openly welcome dogs into the inn, the guest rooms and cottages (free of charge), so if you want a few days away and would like your best friend with you, don't worry he/she will receive a warm welcome.

Holiday Cottages in the Peak District

This local inn, built in the 19th Century, was renamed the Little John by the villagers in 1947, and recently refurbished to provide food and accommodation for holiday makers, walkers and the general public.

There is a set menu and also a specials board, popular with our visitors and locals alike, and the bar is well known for traditional hand pulled ales (several from local micro breweries) and a selection of lagers, ciders and Guinness. During the week we also have speciality themed nights, namely, a curry night on Tuesday, a steak night on Thursday and a fish night on Friday.

The inn has SKY Sports, a pool table, darts board, juke box, quiz machine and 3 wide screen tv's. If you're here on a week end, why not join in with our Friday night quiz or play killer pool on the Sunday evening.
